Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are you accepting new patients?

A: Yes, we are accepting patients that are new to the area, transferring to us with records from previous pediatrician, and/or newborns.

Q: Who is responsible for non-covered medical bills in the case of divorced parents?

A: We define the responsible party to be the person whom brings the child to the visit.  We do not determine the responsible party by the person who carries the insurance.

Q: I am expecting a baby soon.  May I visit and tour your office before choosing your doctor as our pediatrician?

A: Yes, you can schedule a free “expectant parent” session with our doctor and we will be happy to give you an office tour at that time.

Q: I have already decided to bring my baby to your practice.  Is there anything I need to do between now and the time my baby is born?

A: Yes.  Check with your insurance to make certain that we are in the network for your plan.  We accept most all major insurance plans; otherwise, there is nothing else to do until your baby is born.  Upon delivery, simply let the newborn nursery staff know that you have chosen us as your pediatrician.  They will contact our doctor to let him know your baby has been born.  A hospitalist will take care of the baby during your hospital stay. Please call our office either from the hospital or as soon as you get home to schedule a first visit.

Q: Is there a way to reach you after hours?

A: Yes, please call our office - (270) 422-3400 - press 0, and leave a message. Our doctor will return your call.

Q: Are you open on the weekends?

A: No, not at this time. We may offer additional hours at a later date.

Q: Are you open late during the week for working parents and sick children?

A: Yes, we schedule appointments each day through 4:30 pm and stay until all patients have been seen by the doctor. We encourage appointments, but as always we welcome walk-ins with the expectation that there may be a wait time. Note:  the availability for these appointments vary by season (i.e. flu season).

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?  And, do you accept payment plans?

A: We accept cash, check, debit card, Master Card, Visa and Discover. We will allow payment plans - please ask for arrangements.  The minimum payment requirement varies by the amount of the balance.

Q:  Do you accept Passport patients?

A: Yes, we accept Passport patients.

Q: When is my child considered too old to continue to go to a pediatrician?

A: We will see a child through the age of 18, when determined to be an established patient. Please verify with your insurance policy regarding any exclusions to eligibility.
